Bruce Jeffery Hooper, 68, of Casa Grande died on March 5, 2022.
Bruce was born on October 24, 1953 in Casa Grande, Arizona to Edwards Young II and Alma Inez (Wofford) Hooper. He was a proud Pinal County area farmer for 20 years and a John Deere farm equipment salesman for 30 years. In the 1980’s Bruce served in the the Air National Guard as a graphic artist. He was a long standing member of the Casa Grande Historical Society. His passions included painting, studying history, and teasing his closest loved ones and friends. He was an avid storyteller, also known for his sharp wit and devilish smile. The Hoopers were a major pillar in the early days of the Casa Grande community. The clan is best remembered for their altruism, community service and famous family BBQ’s. Bruce will be truly missed by all.
Survivors include his wife of a thousand years, Mitzi Gomez Hooper; ex-wife Bebe Brookfield of Mexico; three sons, Coleman Hooper of Las Vegas, Daniel Hooper (Virginia Gubbins) of Portland, Thomas Hooper (Vanessa Guido) of Portland; one grandson Leo Hooper; and two brothers, Roger Hooper of Casa Grande and EY Hooper III of Tucson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Ed in 1997 and Alma in 2011; and his younger brother Jonathan Blake Hooper in 2010.
A celebration of life will be held at Cole and Maud Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Visitation from 2-3 pm, with service to follow.
