Elisa Zuniga Juarez, beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the age of 53.
She was born on May 24, 1969, in Richland, Washington to Abelardo and Maria Zuniga.
Lisa, proud of her roots as a young migrant worker in Washington, stayed humble and never forgot about her beginnings. She brought her hard-working ethic and kind heart to Eloy, AZ in the 80s, where she graduated from Santa Cruz High School and later met her husband of 31 years, Jimmy Juarez. She dedicated her life to always helping others whether it be family, friends, or the numerous students during her time as the director of financial aid at Central Arizona College. Lisa worked hard to earn her bachelor’s degree in psychology as she simultaneously worked full time and raised her three kids Miranda, Jimmy, and Julianna Juarez. She not only preached about working hard to bring better and new opportunities, but she showed her children, nieces, and nephews firsthand.
Lisa was always so nurturing and loving and accepting. You could always count on her to brighten your day. Her energy and her smile would light up a room. She was proud of her role as a mother and was a role model to many. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and she was always at every birthday, graduation, sporting event and family gathering. She loved talking on the phone for hours with her sisters and brother. Lisa was very spontaneous and loved going on random weekend trips with her kids and husband. She had an adventurous spirit and loved camping with family, going on rollercoasters, traveling, trying new cuisines, going to the movie theater, attending concerts, and football games. It is undeniable, the unwavering love she had for her children, husband, sisters, brother, nieces and nephews, and father. She will forever be greatly missed.
