Rev. Aaron Edward Johns, 84, of Sacaton died January 22, 2022. He was born in Sacaton, Arizona on October 17, 1937, to Labian Johns and Grace Whitman. Aaron was a reverend, who spoke at many funeral services and weddings for the Gila River Indian Community. When he was able to, he would do services at the Caring House. He liked to be outdoors, he would sit outside or drive to the desert to get wood and to read his bible. He spoke at revivals and camp meeting for various churches. He was a busy man for the Lord. Everyone could always count on him. He could tell you the history of the reservation. With all the information Aaron had, he could write his own book.
He is survived by his wife Matilda, his children, Ann Torres, Alan Johns, Cornell Johns, Kevin Johns, Glenda Ramon, Steven Johns and Velda Thomas, 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and two siblings, Truett Johns, Carlotta George
He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
