Abraham Batopis

AK-CHIN - Abraham Batopis, 2, died on Nov. 30, 2016, after a long fight with Menkes kinky hair disease.

Abraham was born on June 14, 2014, in Phoenix to Lorenzo Batopis and Marcela Paramo. The Menkes syndrome was a nasty beast to fight and Abraham fought with all his might. He had quite a personality that tended to be on the grumpy side and loved his ugly pacifier. He was lovingly referred to as Peewee. His chocolate obsession will be remembered.

Survivors include his parents and grandparents, Marcela Batopis and Abraham Paramo, all of Ak-Chin, and Agustina Galvin of Hobbs, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Lorence Batopis.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Mission. Burial will be in Mesa Cemetery.
