ARIZONA CITY — Adela Federico Ontiveros, 97, of Arizona City died on Jan. 9, 2013, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ontiveros was born on Oct. 20, 1915, in Clint, Texas, and was a daughter of Rafael Federico and Lorenza Ontiveros. She was a homemaker and earlier was a field worker in the Socorro, Texas, area. She moved to Eloy in 1975 to be closer to her adult children. She was a mother to more than her own children including two adopted grandchildren, Fred and Eddie Ontiveros. She was devoted to her grandchildren, giving them a place to stay when needed.
Survivors include two sons, Rafael Federico of Phoenix and Lorenzo Ontiveros; a brother, Manuel Federico Sr. of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Ramona Federico and Maria Magdalena Saenz of El Paso, Texas; 18 grandchildren, including Edward Ontiveros of Arizona City; 45 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rosalio; four sons, Raul and Jose Ontiveros, Manuel and Juan Castanon; a daughter, Carmen Castanon; a brother, Benito Federico; and three sisters, Catalina Federico, Evangelina Mendoza and Emilia Angel.
