Alan C. Smith

Alan C. Smith, 70, passed away on June 21, 2019. He was born on August 21, 1948 to Sonny Boy and Tommie Lee Smith in Bakersfield, California. Alan was very devoted to his family. He was a father figure and provider to his entire family. He enjoyed playing golf and enjoyed astronomy. Alan was an Army veteran from Vietnam who was part of the "Big Red One" and Purple Heart recipient. he was a member of the Casa Grande VFW and Casa Grande Elks Lodge. Alan worked at Central Arizona College as an accountant comptroller for 10 years.
He is survived by his siblings, Mike Smith of Arizona City and Jerry Smith of Casa Grande; his niece, Alyssa Smith of Casa Grande; his nephews, Jackson Smith of Casa Grande and Neal Elliott of Globe; his great-nephews, Thomas J. Smith and Jaxn Smith Jr. of Casa Grande; and his great-niece, Kirynn Jaurequi of Coolidge.
Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Sonny Boy and Tommie Lee Smith and his brother, Danny Steve Smith.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. with service following at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019 at The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. Graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Arizona Veterans Memorial
Cemetery in Marana.
