Albert B Davis

Longtime Casa Grande resident, Albert B Davis, Jr (Ben/Benjie), passed away on November 27, 2021 in Chandler, Arizona at the age of 94.

He was born in Madera County, California, to Albert B and Laura Rebecca Davis. They moved to Arizona when he was 8 years old. He attended school in both Eloy and Casa Grande.

Ben joined the Navy in January of 1945 and served in both WWII and the Korean War. He received the WWII Victory Medal. His military service was a source of great pride. Ben worked for the USPS as a Letter Carrier in Casa Grande until his retirement in 1977. He owned & operated Renta-Jon in Casa Grande until his full retirement in 1993.

Ben loved to fish! He spent a lot of time fishing in the White Mountains with his wife, Wanda, and in Utah with his nephew, Richard. He also loved woodworking and was an avid gun owner. He didn’t know a stranger and will be remembered for his love of family and friends, generous spirit and his community activism.

He is survived by 6 children, Nathan Davis (Jan) of Tempe, Rená Thornhill (Jack) of Maricopa, Laura Stevens (Jerry) of Bend, OR, Joe Davis (Lynn) of Phoenix, Richard Standridge of Gilbert and Nina Foster of Mesa. He leaves 14 grandchildren, 23 great grands and 6 great great grands. He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse - Wanda M Davis, brother - Robert Davis, 3 sisters - Erma Pretzer, Iva Hickman and Jaunita Frantz, daughter - Bobbie Barnes and infant grandson Albert.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at
J Warren’s Cole and Maud Gardens Chapel, 525 N Peart Rd, Casa Grande, AZ 85122. Visitation is at 9:00 AM, funeral at 10:00 with graveside and burial to follow at Eloy Memorial Park.
