Alejandra P. Valenzuela, 86, of Coolidge died July 15, 2009 at Odyssey Hospice.
Visitation began at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy, with rosary recited at 8:30. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 9 a.m. by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre. Burial was in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Valenzuela was born May 15, 1923 in Ysleta, Texas. She was a homemaker and loved quilting and gardening. She was a great cook and a devout Catholic. She lived in Eloy from 1952 to 1982 before moving to Coolidge.
Survivors include a son, Jesus A. Valenzuela of Tucson; four daughters, Ramona Hernandez and Juanita Salas of Tucson, Frances Castillo and Tere Esquivel of Texas; four sisters, Herminia P. Silvas, Rosa Bustamante, Alicia G. Ruiz and Angelina Ortega, all of Ysleta; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus F.; a daughter, Cecilia A. Lopez; four sons, Angel and Jesse Valenzuela Jr., Charlie and Bayardo Archuleta Jr.; a sister, Aurora Colmenero; and three brothers, Beto Granillo, Enrique and Fidencio Paiz.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
