Alfonso Campos Pineda

ELOY - The memorial service for Alfonso Campos Pineda, 97, will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel in Eloy.

Mr. Campos Pineda was born on Aug. 2, 1920, in Tecario, Michoacan, Mexico, to Narcisco Campos Suarez and Maria Elena Pineda, who both died when he was young. He died on Aug. 28, 2017, in Salinas, California, with his family by his side. Despite a difficult childhood and limited education, he became a pillar of the community, touching and bettering the lives of thousands. With a reputation for being tough but fair, he earned the respect and admiration of peers, employees and business associates.

He was a supervisor for Bud Antle Inc. for 30 years until retiring in 1983. He shared his knowledge and wisdom and was a great provider and parent to his family. After retirement, his passions were spending time with his family and tending to his vegetables, fruit trees and livestock.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eleanor; five sons, David, Alfonso, Arturo, Frank and Salvador; three daughters, Mary Pineda, Marina Mendoza and Eleanor Alonzo; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
