Alfred "Cheno" Zambrano, 74, of Casa Grande died on Sept. 12, 2015, in Floresville, Texas.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The celebration of life will follow at 11, with Pastor Epifanio Paniagua officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Zambrano was born on Sept. 3, 1941, in Kenedy, Texas, and was a son of Ricardo and Maclovia Zambrano. He graduated from Edna (Texas) High School and served in the Army and National Guard, qualifying as a sharpshooter. He later managed an auto parts store.
He loved woodworking, making birdhouses, fishing, watching WWE on TV, and being with his dog, Daisy. He was very involved with church camp and was a devoted member of Primera Iglesia Bautista. He enjoyed going to Arizona Cardinals games and watching the Diamondbacks and his grandchildren’s baseball games.
Survivors include three daughters, Velma Martinez and Cindy Irwin of Casa Grande and Vickie Priest of Gilbert; a son, JR Zambrano of Casa Grande; four sisters, Arcelia Adams of Calais, Maine, Angie Mejia of Casa Grande, and Toni Brassard and Orpha Rocha of Arizona City; four brothers, Richard, Arnold, Armando and Ariel Zambrano, all of Casa Grande; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Rosie, last March.
