Alfred Manuel

SAN LUCY - Alfred Rudy Manuel Sr., 52, died on May 21, 2014, at Hospice of the Valley Coronado Home in Phoenix.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Friday at San Lucy Catholic Mission. Visitation will follow until 5. Burial will be in San Lucy Cemetery.

Mr. Manuel was born on Aug. 11, 1961, in Phoenix. He was a farmworker and was an outdoor guy who liked to go hiking and walking around mountains with his kids, hunting and swimming. He also knew beading and enjoyed hanging out with friends, reading and doing crosswords. His favorite snack was Slim Jims.

Survivors include four sons, Alfred Manuel Jr., Dane and Francisco Manuel, all of Sells, and Rosalino Manuel of Tucson; four daughters, Kayla, Emilia and Ashley Manuel, all of Sells, and Krystal Bustamante-Manuel of Tucson; a brother, Freeman Dora of San Lucy; three sisters, Louise and Alfrieda of San Lucy and Leonardine Manuel of Tonopah; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Manuel Sr. and Agnes Lispin-Manuel; a brother, Elmer Manuel Jr.; and a sister, Verna Manuel.
