ELOY ? Alice Irene Rayrao, 81, of Eloy died Aug. 9, 2009.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel. The celebration of life there will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, with Pastor James Fillingame officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Rayrao was born Sept. 25, 1927 in Augusta, Ark. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and reading. Her favorite authors were Nora Roberts, Danielle Steele and Cassie Edwards.
She was a Girl Scout leader in Eloy and volunteered with the Eloy Chamber of Commerce and the food bank. She was an election official and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and helped put flags out at the cemetery on Memorial Day.
Survivors include two sons, J.W. Tidwell of Eloy and Larry Rayrao of Arizona City; three daughters, Lola Caraher and Gloria Guzman of Phoenix and Jeanette Prosceno of Cody, Wyo.; four brothers, Clyde and Lee M. Patterson of Alabama, George Patterson of Texas and Giles Patterson of Florida; three sisters, Mae Belle Clemmons, Martha Dralle and Hattie Butler, all of Alabama; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; four brothers; and three sisters.
