Alice Josephine Doherty

Alice Josephine Doherty passed away August 26th 2022 peacefully at her home on the Florence Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation. She was born November 14th, 1936, in Santa Rosa. She was a dedicated and hard-working woman. In addition, she was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and all-around family woman and she will be greatly missed.

Alice started work as a caregiver to children for a family living in Tucson Arizona while she resided in Tohono O’odham Indian Village. She then met the man she would marry and create her family of 2 sons John Doherty and Charles Doherty and 1 daughter Gina Doherty Rico. Alice and her family made a life in California. She was employed with TRW/NorthropGruman, Pacific Electricord and Leviton while she cared for her family. She was later divorced and moved back to Arizona.
Alice enjoyed watching basketball, she loved going to the casino and watching her favorite soaps and game show programs.
Alice loved to spend time with her sisters Rose, Barbara, Margie and Gina.

Alice preceded in death by her mother and father John &Helen Manuel, Brother Louis Manuel Sr., Sister Barbara and Sons John and Charles (Chuck) Doherty.
She survived by her Daughter Gina Doherty Rico. As well as her sisters Rosemary Starman, Virginia Guzman, and Margie Pablo, her eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
