Allen "Al" Bergen

BLACKWATER - Allen "Al" Bergen, 82, of Blackwater died on July 15, 2016.

Mr. Bergen was born on April 9, 1934, in Tuba City to Joseph Bergen and Vera Chief. He was known as a strong leader who had tremendous compassion and a great sense of humor.

He loved his life, wife and children. He enjoyed meeting people through Ira H. Hayes American Legion Post 84 and the Marine Corps League of Casa Grande.

Survivors include three daughters, Dellina, Trina and Velina Bergen, all of Tucson; two sons, Allen Bergen Jr. of Blackwater and Arlan Bergen of Tucson; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Verda and Josephine; four brothers, Jerry, Oliver, Carl and Van; his wife, Majel; and his oldest son, Oliver.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 17 at the District 1 Service Center. Interment will be private.
