Allen L. Rosburg, 85, passed away on June 11, 2020. He was born to Fred and Adelia (Lorensen) Rosburg in Denison, Iowa November 10, 1934.
Al was raised in Charter Oak, Iowa. After high school, he served overseas in the Marines until 1957. He attended General Electric Trade School in Omaha. Al moved to Lincoln and was a longtime resident and business owner of Merchandise Mart. He retired in 1995 and moved to Ajo, Arizona in 1999.
Always up for an adventure, Al was beloved by his family, who will no doubt honor him via the retelling of a multitude of stories from the span of his life. He loved to work around the house, and his hobbies were diverse-including travel, bird watching, boating, gardening, and aviation. He adored spending time with friends and family all over, including Iowa, Nebraska, Arizona, and Missouri. Al was an active member of the American Legion, Elks Club and the VFW and inspired several grandchildren to also serve in the military.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James and Mike Rosburg, stepson John Magree and granddaughter Nicole (Rosburg) Vancura, and great-granddaughter, Faith Danczak. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Doan) Rosburg, and, children Ronald and Julie Rosburg, Kathryn (Rosburg) and Roger Harre, Kenneth and Lana Rosburg, Cindy (Rosburg) and Mike Duane, Steven Rosburg and the children’s mother, Elaine J. Rosburg. Also, stepdaughters Kelli and Rob Paetz, Karin and Kevin Hindmarsh, Angie and Shaun Raney as well as Anjeanette Magree. And brother Herman and Nancy Rosburg and Gloriane Rosburg. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Al had several grandchildren: Brady Vancura, Sarah and Larry Danczak, Cheryl Benes, Jim Benes and Tim Turnquist, Doug and Tricia Benes, Katie and Timmy Barber, Tom Benes, A.J. and Kara Rosburg, Chris Rosburg, Grayson Rosburg, Myah Rosburg, Angel Perkins, Adam and Sarah Duane, McKale Turner, Jill and John Gocken, Jared Hindmarsh, Emma Raney, Averi Magree, Adelyn Magree, Jamey Kohlman, Justin Kohlman, and Vicky Thompson. Al also had many great grandchildren: Aubrey, Ashtyn, Josslyn, Hailey, Faith, Kingston, Cambria, Caleb, Tyson, Abigail, Kaleb, Kiera, Liam, Orianna, Tabetha, Gideon, Cassie, Katelyn, Kyle, Scarlett, Tyrus, MaLeah, and Nadia. Also survived by a beloved and spunky schnauzer, Martha.
