Allen Maywood Sayre, 66, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 30, 2012, at home.
Mr. Sayre was born on Dec. 6, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio. He was a millwright in the mining industry, was sometimes called the "Old Lion Heart" and was devoted to his family. He was an elder for various congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses for 35 years and made wine and home-roasted coffees. He loved to drink coffee from all over the world, read and travel.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Pamela Holt Sayre; a son, Bernard Allen Sayre of Spring Creek, Nev.; his mother, Helen Sayre of Brooksville, Fla.; a brother; five sisters; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nichi Y. Edwards, and his father, Delbert Sayre.
