CASA GRANDE - Alonzo Christopher Lopez Jr., 33, of Casa Grande died on June 20, 2018.
Mr. Lopez was born on Aug. 23, 1984, in Phoenix to Alonzo and Melissa Lopez. He loved to cook and was a chef by trade. He worked at Bottega in Napa County, California, for Michael Chiarello. He made gnocchi so well that Chiarello changed the recipe.
When he came back to Arizona he worked at Olive & Ivy in Scottsdale and Luxe Lounge and 347 Grill in Ak-Chin. He made a couple of appearances on Channel 10 promoting one of the restaurants. He enjoyed Asian food and dreamed of going to Japan and being a sushi chef.
Survivors include his wife, Nicolette J.; four children, Alonzo C. Lopez III, Cole J., Oliver T. and Emily C. Lopez; his parents; nine siblings, Salina P., Stephanie C., Andrea N. and Michael A. Lopez, Adrian Torres, Gabrielle E., Annalisa M., David L. and Gabriel N. Lopez; and grandparents, Guadalupe Martinez and Lee Lopez.
Visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 9:30. Funeral Mass celebrated at 10. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
