SANTA ROSA VILLAGE - Alton Marcus Domingo, 60, of Santa Rosa died on May 9, 2018, at Sells Indian Hospital.
Mr. Domingo was born on March 26, 1958, in Santa Rosa to Clarence and Annette (Marks) Domingo. He attended Santa Rosa Boarding and Day School and Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, California, graduating in 1977. He worked in various summer jobs under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act program while in high school. He later worked under the Tribal Work Experience Program and was a driver for the Santa Rosa Clinic. He worked for the Tohono O'odham Elderly Program in transportation and in the kitchen of Santa Rosa Boarding School. In 1996 he moved to Tucson and worked at Desert Diamond Casino as a custodian and driver and in various other jobs in the area.
In 2002 he began working in transportation for the Elderly Program in Santa Rosa and continued until his death. He enjoyed listening and dancing to chicken scratch and Mexican music. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Andrea; six siblings, Mary Jane Domingo of Palo Verde Stand Village, Agnes Havier of White Horse Pass Village, William Domingo of Arizona City, Harry Domingo of Palo Verde Stand, Delbert Domingo of Fort McDowell and Hernando Domingo of North Santa Rosa; seven nephews; six nieces; 19 grandnieces and -nephews; and many godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Andy Domingo.
Funeral Mass celebrated at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Mission, with wake following at the Domingo home. Burial at 5 a.m. on Sunday, May 20, in Santa Rosa South Cemetery.
