Alvin Eschief Juan, 77, of San Luis Village died on Dec. 24, 2010, at Archie Hendricks Sr. Skilled Nursing Facility.
The wake will begin at 4 p.m. Monday at San Luis Catholic Mission, with Mass celebrated at 7 p.m. Burial will be early Tuesday in San Luis Cemetery.
Mr. Juan was born on Oct. 10, 1933, in Covered Wells and was a son of Henry and Lucille Joaquin Juan. He served in the Army, including in the Korean War, and was a community resource worker for the Tohono O’odham Nation. He loved his dogs and was outgoing and helpful to those in need. He rode his bike to the store in his younger years.
Survivors include four sons, Edward and Matthew Juan of San Luis, Patrick Rubio of Florence and Clarence Rubio of Casa Grande; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Lopez Juan, and a daughter, Clara M. Juan.
