SANTA ROSA VILLAGE — Amanda Batista Jose, 47, died on Oct. 26, 2021, in Tucson.
Ms. Jose was born to Mandy and Annie Justine Jose on Aug. 4, 1974, in Sells. She graduated from St. Catherine Indian School in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 1992. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and a Master of Science in community counseling from University of Phoenix.
She worked at Santa Rosa Boarding and Day School as a substance abuse counselor from 1999 to 2000, Horizon Human Services in Casa Grande from 2001 to 2005 and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a behavioral health coordinator for the Serious Mental Illness Program from 2005 to 2018. She enjoyed singing, traditional singing, music and dancing. She was also a huge Denver Broncos fan.
She is survived by her father; her companion, Lynette Lopez; and two siblings, Leander and Ben Jose. She was preceded in death by her mother and two siblings, Gerald and Theodore Jose.
Funeral Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Mission in Santa Rosa. Visitation beginning at noon in Covered Wells Village. Burial at 2 p.m. in Covered Wells Cemetery.
