MENAGER’S DAM VILLAGE - Amelia Salcido, 64, died on March 25, 2015, at Caring House in Sacaton.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. today at the Salcido home in Menager’s Dam, Tohono O’odham Nation. A wake will follow, with all choirs welcome. Burial will be at sunrise Wednesday in Menager’s Dam Cemetery.
Ms. Salcido was born on Oct. 28, 1950, in Menager’s Dam and was a daughter of Felix Salcido and Ella E. Garcia. She was a homemaker and a horsehair basket weaver. She sometimes was called Awesome Auntie and had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Flores of Casa Grande and Rachel Flores of Menager’s Dam; four sons, Jerry Flores Jr., Michael and Mark Flores, all of Menager’s Dam, and Patrick Flores of Casa Grande; a sister, Delia Salcido of Menager’s Dam; three brothers, John Salcido of Menager’s Dam, Allen Salcido Sr. of Texas and Ramon Salcido of Tucson; and 19 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her companion, Jerry Flores Sr.; a sister, Frances Salcido; and three bothers, Franciso Salcido Sr., Martin Salcido Sr. and Mattia Salcido.
