SACATON - Angela Marguerite Yowytewa, 53, of Sacaton died on Oct. 21, 2019.
Ms. Yowytewa was born on Aug. 22, 1966, in Flagstaff to Hubert Yowytewa and Judy Tonemah and raised by her grandparents there until age 7. She then moved to central Phoenix to live with her parents until her sophomore year in high school, when she moved to Sacaton. She met her future husband and later married in 2001.
She had two children, was a kind, nurturing mother and chose to stay at home with them until they started school. She worked at Sacaton Public Schools for 12 years, loved her job and encouraged children in the community to be better students and people. She had a beautiful smile and laugh and enjoyed making others laugh. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren - they were her joy. She was known as Auntie Angie by all the family's children she helped raise.
Survivors include her son and daughter, Matthew and Misty Harvier; two siblings, Mari and Tina Yowytewa; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, F. Gilman Harvier Jr.; her parents; and two brothers, Michael and Thomas Yowytewa.
Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the District 3 Service Center. Graveside service at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, in Sacaton East Cemetery.
