Angelita P. Williams

Angelita Paula Williams, 80 died on September 17, 2023 in Kaka Village. She was born on July 14, 1943 in Stanfield, Arizona to Chico and Juana Francisco.

In her youth she was a cotton picker. Angelita was a teachers aid for Vaya Chin. She received her Associates Degree in Applied Science from Central Arizona College. Later she attended Haskell Institute. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse at Lawrence Memorial Hospital where she worked in different departments: Medical, Surgical, Obstetric and Pediatric. Angelita was a Physician Assistant for the Tohono O’odham Nation. She was awarded the Indian Health Service May 12-15 1992 in Sacramento, California and Community Service Award in Tohono O’odham Nation by Edward D. Manuel and Verlon Jose.

She is survived by her children: Sheila Chavez, Abbileigh Morris, Erik and Luann Williams; Nine grandchildren and Ten great grandchildren.

Angelita is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years: Kenneth Williams; her children: Shawn Williams and Larry Anguigo Jr; and her siblings: Cornelius, Emilio, Lloyd, Cryus and Patrick Francisco.

Service will be held at 8am on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Kaka Village. Burial to follow at 4 p.m. at Ventana, Arizona.
