Anita Longoria Ruiz

CASA GRANDE - Anita Longoria Ruiz, 87, of Casa Grande and formerly of Picacho, died peacefully at home on Nov. 18, 2016.

Mrs. Ruiz was born on Nov. 12, 1929, in Nixon, Texas, to Manuel and Juanita Longoria. She moved in 1940 to Arizona, where she married the love of her life, Jesus B. Ruiz, on Jan. 26, 1953. They had two children, Juanita Gonzales of Eloy and Eduardo Ruiz of Casa Grande.

She was a homemaker who loved her pets, gardening, crocheting and shopping and was a wonderful cook. She was a very religious woman who was devoted to her family, known to all as Nana Nita/Annie.

In addition to her husband, daughter and son, survivors include a sister of Eloy, eight grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Sylvester, and a sister, Sarah.

Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
