ELOY - Anita Maximina "Mina" Reyes-Tipton, 55, of Eloy died on Jan. 10, 2014, at Hospice Family Care in Casa Grande.
The celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church, with Pastor Scott Bailey officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Casa Grande Mountain View Cemetery.
Ms. Reyes-Tipton was born on June 1, 1958, in Casa Grande. Also called Max, she was a daughter of Antonia R. Reyes and Juan Triste. Raised in Eloy, she graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School in 1976. She attended classes at Central Arizona College and became a clerk for Pinal County. She later became a corrections officer at Arizona State Prison in Florence and a social worker in elderly services for the Gila River Indian Community in Sacaton.
In 2004 she married the love of her life, David Tipton, in Eloy. They loved playing darts and taking off on weekend road trips. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and in her spare time liked to sew, crochet, paint and bake ceramics. She had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor and was always willing to help anyone. She had a nickname for nearly everyone and was devoted to her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Toni M. Othon of Eloy; a son, Filiberto A. "Chapito" Chapetti of Modesto, Calif.; three brothers, Jimmy and Robert Reyes of Modesto and Richard Reyes of Eloy; nine siblings from her father’s side, Priscilla Lopez, Kenny and Andrew Triste, Josie Lerma, Tony, Eddie, John, Debbie and Art Triste; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a grandson, Cristoval M. Gomez; and grandparents, Manuel and Maximina Reyes.
