Ms. Reeder-McCoy was born on Feb. 10, 1950, in Clifton and was a daughter of Betty Gray and Tommy Clayton.
She loved horses, and her dream was to run a ranch and raise good-quality horses. She loved all disciplines in the horse world, and her most beloved horse was Blue, a stud colt she bred and raised.
She lived in Alaska for 39 years and drove trucks, later hauling horses up and down the Alaska Highway to the Lower 48. She spent time at the racetrack in her younger years and also worked as a project and contract manager. Her family said she was a strong-willed, "take no crap," knowledgeable, kind and big-hearted cowgirl. She had a wealth of knowledge about horses and helped a lot of people with them. She was described as cunning in doing her project and contract work.
