Anna Marie Ross

Anna Marie Ross, 89, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, August 5, 2024, in Smyrna, TN.

 A woman who walked humbly with her God, Anna’s life was marked by her love for the Lord and for her family. Throughout her life she taught Sunday school, played piano in church, served as the church gardener, and sang in the church choir up until she was 85 years old. If you ever got to hear Anna sing, you were truly blessed.

 Anna earned her AA in Missionary Education. She loved teaching and spending time with children and young people. Her favorite things included sending family and friends birthday cards, enjoying a good dessert, and watching sports. Her quick wit and affinity for humor will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

 Selfless with a big heart, Anna would give her last penny if it meant helping someone in need.

 Anna was preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Ross and brother Warren Shields. She will be forever remembered by her loving family: son and daughter-in-law John and Amy Sue Ross; her big little brother and sister-in-law Bob and Jean Shields; younger sister Darlene Pickney; half-brother and sister-in-law Bill and Wanda Hughes; stepson and daughter-in-law Bobby and Norma Ross; grandchildren and great grandchildren, niece and nephews and great nieces and nephew.

A viewing and Celebration of Life will be held for Anna on 

Saturday, August 17, 2024, in Ajo, AZ:

• 11am – 12noon: Viewing at Douglass Funeral Home
• 12:00noon – 1pm: Lunch at Ajo Calvary Baptist Church
• 1:30pm: Celebration of Life, Ajo Calvary Baptist Church
