Anthony B. Kunz, 49, died on Feb. 27, 2010 after a brief illness.
Mr. Kunz was the first child born to Paul F. and Judith A. Kunz on Sept. 19, 1960. He will be best remembered for his love of music, rock in particular. He received his first guitar at age 10 and had one by his side most of the time. Along with his lifelong friends Tim and Troy Hubbard, Jeff Sanders and Rick Miller, he formed a band, “Future Shock” (renamed “Ash”), and played for the enjoyment of the community and friends for decades.
Second only to his love of music was his passion for baseball, and the Arizona Diamondbacks were his favorite team. He enjoyed watching both his sons play baseball throughout their school years and sharing those times together. He treasured his lifelong friends, his music and his family. He was known for his easygoing manner, sense of humor and infectious laugh.
Survivors include his father; his sons, Craig and Trevor Kunz; two sisters and a brother, Lorraine S. Kunz Banner of Tulsa, Okla., Deborah A. Kunz of Willcox and Jeffrey S. Kunz of Hollywood, Calif.; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, John and Nel Kunz and Milton and Nyla Klein.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. A reception will follow.
Donations may be made in his honor to the Music Department of Casa Grande Union High School.
