SANTAN - Anthony "Tony" Knox, 68, of Santan died peacefully on Aug. 31, 2016.
Mr. Knox was born on Sept. 4, 1947, in Sacaton to George and Patricia Knox. He enjoyed spending time with anyone - it didn’t matter if you sat and just talked with him or made a car trip to nearby cities to shop and eat out.
If he wasn’t chatting away, he would be sitting with music on and doing a word puzzle. He always made sure people got what they needed, especially the grandchildren. He had a sense of humor that left people with a smile and a bellyache from laughing. He had a soft spot for beautiful women and was always advertising for a girlfriend.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Knox of Santan; a son, John Knox of Santan; four sisters and brothers, Claire Knox of Blackwater, Gregory Knox of Fort Totten, South Dakota, Andrea Knox of Santan and Roderick Knox of Phoenix; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Michael, Dolores and Kathy Knox.
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Anne Catholic Mission, with a wake following. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 7 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
