Antonio T. Perez Jr., 71, of Phoenix died on April 3, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday by the Rev. George Kunnel. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Perez was born on April 6, 1942, in Del Rio, Texas. He was a landscaper and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Phoenix. He called himself "president and CEO of Tio Tony’s Fan Club." He enjoyed his work and watching western movies, and his favorite actors were John Wayne, Shirley Temple and Clint Eastwood.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Virginia L.; a daughter, Christine M. Perez of Phoenix; a son, Joaquin Perez of Phoenix; his mother, Margarita T. Perez of Casa Grande; seven sisters, Minnie Perez of Casa Grande, Gloria Garcia of Glendale, Marta Almodova of Tucson, Margarita Leyvas of Casa Grande, Nina Sanchez of Sierra Vista, Ana Vance of Casa Grande and Terri Rangel of Phoenix; two brothers, Andres Perez of Phoenix and Arturo Perez of Peoria; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Perez Sr.; a sister, Rosa Linda Garcia; and a brother, Armando Perez.
