Aree "Kyu" Valencia

SACATON - Aree "Kyu" Valencia, 16, of Sacaton died on May 29, 2017, at home, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Valencia was born in Phoenix on Sept. 16, 2000, to Jose and Chastatie Valencia. He was known for his kind personality and love of life and enjoyed drawing, talking with people and spending time with his family, especially his son and companion.

He had an outgoing personality and a big heart and was known for putting others before himself - always willing to help someone in need. He was known for his smile, jokester personality and outspokenness.

Survivors include his parents; his companion, Janise Miles; a stepson, Jacob Miles; and four siblings, Jovy, Elijah, Honey and Siah Valencia. He was preceded in death by grandparents, George Thompson, Jose Valencia II and Linda Yazzie.

Visitation from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the District 3 Service Center. Graveside service at 6 a.m. Saturday, June 3, in Sacaton East Cemetery.
