SACATON FLATS - Augustus "Gus" Pablo, 19, of Sacaton Flats died on July 5, 2016, in Coolidge.
Mr. Pablo was born on March 24, 1997, in Chandler to Irvina and Augustine "Augie" Pablo. He graduated from Coolidge High School in 2015 after playing tennis and was a member of the Tribes Club for four years. He was an elected official of the Akimel O’odham (Gila River) Pee-Posh Youth Council and served as president and a member of the Hashan Kehk Teen Club.
He attended Central Arizona College while working as a host at a pizzeria in Chandler. He loved spending time with his family and friends, loved his cuties, Ethel and Lucy, and always lit up a room making people happy. He loved spending time with and caring for his niece, Tatiana Jackson. He loved working with the youth and was a photographer.
Survivors include his parents, of Sacaton Flats and Upper Santan; a brother, Alexander "Alex" Pablo of Sacaton Flats; two sisters, Keshia Pablo of Upper Santan and Amber Pablo of Sacaton Flats; a half-brother, Augustine Pablo Jr. of Santan; and three half-sisters, Joyce and Sadie Apkaw of Santan and Cristian Apkaw of Sacaton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Tanya, and grandfathers, Nathaniel Pablo Sr. and Irving Pablo Sr.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Hashan Kehk Multipurpose Building. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Mission by the Rev. Greg Rice. Burial will be in Sacaton Flats Catholic Cemetery.
