Baptista D’souza, 88, of Casa Grande died on Feb. 25, 2014, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Mr. D’souza was born on Sept. 16, 1925, in Goa, India. He worked as a heavy machine mechanic in the textile industry in India. He married Carolina in 1949, and they lived in Bombay, India, before moving to Casa Grande in 1990.
He was a hard worker and a man of few words but a very giving man who loved animals. He loved to take long walks and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years; five sons and daughters, Victor D’souza of Casa Grande, Sister Lourdina D’souza of India, Moses D’souza, Vona D’souza and Greta Edwards, all of Casa Grande; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Candida D’souza, and his oldest son, Frank De souza.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with Mass following, celebrated by the Rev. George Kunnel. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
