Barbara Jean Chafey, 82, a longtime Casa Grande resident, died on May 16, 2013, at Family Tree Assisted Living.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The celebration of life will follow at 11, with Darwin Chandler officiating. Private burial will be later.
Ms. Chafey was born on Oct. 21, 1930, in Tucson and was a daughter of Michael and Verdie Watson. She was a library assistant at Central Arizona College before retirement and was a hard worker with a great sense of humor. She loved her family and was fiercely protective of them. She loved Casa Grande, was a good cook, loved holidays and loved to watch a good movie and read. She took care of friends and family.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Minninger, Diana Danelz and Janet Taylor, all of Casa Grande; two sons, Denny Haught of Casa Grande and Tim Chafey of Tucson; a sister, Margaret Coffey of Casa Grande; a brother, Ralph Watson of Arkansas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Hackworth and Wilma Boyle.
