Barbra "Boots" O'Donnell

PHOENIX - Barbra "Boots" O'Donnell, 92, died on April 29, 2017, in Phoenix.
Mrs. O'Donnell was born on Dec. 27, 1924, in Miami, Arizona, and was a daughter of Francis and Lois Stone. She had an older sister and brother, Lois and Francis. She grew up in Superior and married her childhood sweetheart, John O'Donnell, on Aug. 28, 1948, in Bakersfield, California.

She was a nurse for many years and raised 11 children in Superior and Casa Grande. She never missed a game, diving meet, play or activity her children participated in throughout their school years. She was an avid scorekeeper and enjoyed sharing her special scoring ability with each child. Any child who visited her home ate, played and was loved.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 69 years; 11 sons and daughters, John, Jim, Tom, Catherine, Tim, Lois, Pat, Michael, Mary Ann, Joe and Danny; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Celebration of life at 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, at St. Benedict Catholic Church.
