Bernice Mary Lewis

AK-CHIN - Bernice Mary Lewis, 81, died June 19, 2007 at RTA Hospice House in Casa Grande.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Mission by Deacon Joseph Swisher. Visitation will follow from 7 to midnight at the Lewis home, 46484 W. Farrell Road. Burial will be at 6 a.m. Tuesday in Ak-Chin Cemetery.

Mrs. Lewis was born Dec. 3, 1925 in Ak-Chin. She was a cook for Head Start in the Ak-Chin Indian Community for 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include four daughters, Arlene Manuel, Marilyn Thompson, Jacquelyn Lewis and Monica Murrietta, all of Ak-Chin; two sons, Virgil and Marvin Lewis of Ak-Chin; two sisters, Lena Enos and Vera Antone of Ak-Chin; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose; a son, Kevin Lewis; and two daughters, Annette and Maxine Lewis.
