Bertha Castillo Garcia, 88, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 3, 2014, at Jaidon Manor assisted living.
The celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Desert Sky Baptist Church, with Pastor Larry Larsen officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
Mrs. Garcia was born on Oct. 28, 1926, in Scottsdale and was a daughter of Francisco Castillo and Anita Nevarez. She was a homemaker and a member of Desert Sky Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1677 Women’s Auxiliary.
She was very active in her church and participated in the choir. She was known for teaching traditional Mexican dancing and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Oscar R., George R. and Daniel R. Garcia, all of Casa Grande; three brothers, Frank and Tino Castillo of Casa Grande and Ruben Castillo of Stanfield; three sisters, Angela Eagle of California, Celsa Coronado and Hope Duran of Casa Grande; 16 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar S.; a son, Andrew R. Garcia; and three brothers, Manuel, Armando and Roy Castillo.
