Bertha Francis Couture

Francis Bernard Couture, 77, of Queen Creek died July 23, 2009 at Hospice Family Care in Casa Grande. His wife, Bertha Ann Couture, 77, died July 24, 2009 at Deborah's House care home in Casa Grande.

The service will be held later in Rhode Island.

Mrs. Couture was born June 3, 1932, in Pawtucket, R.I., and was a daughter of Anna and Leo Duffy. She was a homemaker and taught college business courses.

Mr. Couture was born Feb. 9, 1932, in Pawtucket and was a son of Arthur and Ida Couture. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a regional manager in air transportation. Both enjoyed sailing.

They are survived by three daughters, Carolyn Ellzey of Casa Grande, Lori Cruz of Georgia and Leah Adkinson of Florence, and five grandchildren. Mr. Couture also is survived by a brother, Arthur Couture Jr. of Rhode Island. They were preceded in death by a son, Peter Couture. Mrs. Couture was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Duffy. Mr. Couture was preceded in death by a brother, Barrie Couture, and a sister, Agnes Couture.

J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel & Crematorium was in charge of local arrangements.
