Betty Jo (Honeycutt) Daugherty

MARICOPA - Betty Jo (Honeycutt) Daugherty, 87, of Maricopa died on Jan. 29, 2019.

Mrs. Daugherty was born on April 9, 1931, in Wright City, Oklahoma, to H.K. and Flora Honeycutt. She married John Daugherty in San Diego in 1947 and moved to Maricopa in 1954 to open D&H Market, which they owned and operated until 1970.

In 1958, she and her husband, along with the Gerald Williams family, started Maricopa Church of Christ, and she remained a lifelong member. She worked for the Maricopa Unified School District from 1970 until 1990.

Survivors include two sons, John and Mark Daugherty, and a daughter, Dawn Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and four brothers.

Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande.
