Elizabeth Anne Taylor “Betty” Ohlsen, 86, a longtime Casa Grande teacher, died on June 11, 2010, at Olive Branch assisted living home.
The celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with the Rev. Raymond Wilson officiating.
Ms. Ohlsen was born on Oct. 29, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo. She graduated from Kansas City Junior College, Midland College and the University of Nebraska. She was a cryptoanalyst for the Army in Washington, D.C., during World War II.
She taught in Nebraska, California and Arizona, including 34 years at Casa Grande Junior High School. She served as president of the Casa Grande Elementary Education Association and Alpha Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma women educators’ honorary. She was an organizing member of Pinal County Federal Credit Union.
Survivors include a brother, Ferd Ohlsen of Park Rapids, Minn.; two nephews; and a niece.
