ELOY - Billie Bojorquez, 80, of Eloy died peacefully on Feb. 1, 2017, with family and friends at her side.
Mrs. Bojorquez was born on Dec. 11, 1936, in Eloy to Reynold and Aurelia Montijo. She enjoyed meeting people and immediately became best friends. She had a big spirit and bigger personality and strength. She worked at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge for many years as a grandmother and enjoyed her time there.
She loved to talk and make people laugh. She enjoyed watching cowboy shows and her novellas with her sister Frances. She loved spending time with her family. Although her prognosis was dire, she battled on and lived her life to the fullest with powerful strength. She was known for her big smile and bright red lipstick.
Survivors include a son, Manuel M. Bojorquez; four sisters, Concha Montijo and Frances Calvo of Eloy, Lupe Frausto of Madera, California, and Gloria Ruiz of Eloy; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Pedro, in 2012; four brothers, Reynold, Aurelio, Hector and Arturo Montijo; and four sisters, Rosa Rodriquez, Cruz Cosillos, Sara Carino and Nora Jimenez.
Visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary and Mass following, celebrated by the Rev. Alonzo M. Garcia. Burial in Eloy Memorial Park.
