Billy Gene Applegate

CASA GRANDE - Billy Gene Applegate, 85, died on April 26, 2020, at Sun West Choice Rehab in Sun City West.

Mr. Applegate was born to Harry and May (Patterson) Applegate on Nov. 3, 1934, in Roswell, New Mexico, and grew up the middle child of three.

He moved all around before settling in Arizona in 1980 and worked at various jobs throughout his life. His greatest passions were caring for his cat, Grumpy, gardening and story telling, and his family remembers the stories.

Survivors include his former wife, Marie, with whom he remained close; six sons and daughters, Robert, Shirley, Sharon, Billy, Connie and Lawrence; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene, and a son, Johnny.
