FLORENCE - Blanca Luz Armstrong, 30, of Florence died Feb. 23, 2009.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The funeral will follow at 10. Burial will be in Florence Cemetery.
Mrs. Armstrong was born Nov. 12, 1978 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She was a teacher at Florence Head Start and worked at the Movie Connection in Coolidge. She loved her husband, children and extended family and had a kind heart. She loved to travel and would bring gifts home to her family.
She worked hard to become an American citizen and knew much about the U.S. government. She was proud of her education, recently had earned another teaching certificate and loved teaching. She also made collages and enjoyed arts and crafts and board games.
Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Travis; two sons, Marcos and Travis Armstrong Jr. of Florence; a daughter, Tatiana Armstrong of Florence; her parents, Tanya Haslam of Snook, Texas, and Miguel Lazo of New York; 11 sisters, Sasha Krick of Apache Junction, Brittney Armstrong of Thatcher, Toni Cantrell of Florence, Letha Ramirez of Florence, Maria Lazo of Snook, Michelle Norwood of California, Lucretia and Gabriela Alvarez of Guatemala, Liz and Raquel Lazo of New York and Jenny Norwood of Snook; five brothers, Brett Armstrong of Thatcher, Dusty and Jason Cantrell of Florence, Fernando Lazo of Snook and Jose M. Lazo of New York; and grandparents, Taniuska Haslam of Nicaragua, Blanca L. and Jose Lazo of Guatemala. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Alfredo Haslam.
