CASA BLANCA - Bryson Butch Hall, 34, died on Oct. 17, 2018.
Mr. Hall was born to Burton Hall and Constance Salkey on July 19, 1984. He loved helping families with rosary services and enjoyed dancing the papakolea. He was part of the Matachines and started his own traditional dance group with an O’odham name, called River People Traditional Dancers and Singer in English. He was known for singing traditional songs from evening until morning light.
He was involved with the Unity Runners, De Colores and Cursillo No. 472 and also danced with the We:s Himajkam Kwail:ya Dam dance group. He was an assistant coach for the Native All-Stars cheer team and helped them with competitions and practice. He worked at St. Peter Mission School as a cultural teacher, and his family said he gave 150 percent of his all to helping when asked.
His passion was singing gospel songs, especially singing along with his late grandma Imogene Jackson and Brenda Robertson.
Wake service beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, at the District 5 Multipurpose Building, with Unity/Traditional Runners escorting. Funeral at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at West Casa Blanca Worshipping Center. Burial in Lower Santan Cemetery, with the Rev. Frances Williams officiating.
