Burton R. Joseph

COOLIDGE - Burton R. Joseph, 64, died on July 30, 2020.

Mr. Joseph was born on April 29, 1956. He was devoted to his family and became a great-grandfather this year. He served proudly in the Marine Corps, which led him to occupations with military police and as a security officer, entrepreneur and Native American artist.

He lived in Washington, D.C., New Mexico, California and South Dakota before settling back in Arizona. His favorite hobbies included shopping at flea markets and thrift stores and watching western television shows. He was known for his love, generosity and sense of humor.

He is survived by two daughters, Rene Joseph and Jennifer Joseph of Gaithersburg, Maryland; two sisters, Doreen Lopez and Gloria Martinez; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Scoffer; a brother, Bennett Scoffer; and a sister, Geraldine Scott.
