C.H. Grubb, 67, of Casa Grande died June 2, 2009.
Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont, Neb. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Fremont, with the Rev. Ron Croom officiating. Interment will be in Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Grubb was born in Horton, Kan., to Loyd and Sophia (Meerpohl) Grubb. He later had a stepfather, Delmar Kinkade. He attended school there and later in Fremont, where he graduated from high school in 1959. He worked for Coca-Cola in Fremont until 1963. The next year he went to work for Falstaff Brewing Corp. In 1968 he became a firefighter in Fremont. He did that until retiring in 1994, operating a lawn service on his days off. He then worked for the Fremont Parks and Recreation Department until retiring in 1999.
In 2002 he and his wife, Sharon, moved to Casa Grande. He was active in his RV park's fire department. He was a member of Fremont Eagles Aerie 200, Fremont's Antique Tractor Club and served on the board of the village of Inglewood.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, survivors include a sister, Rose Mary Terry of Canton, Mich.; a brother, Lyle Grubb of Fremont; a stepsister, Vicky Sayles of Omaha; 11 nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and -nephews; and one great-great-niece. He was preceded in death by a niece.
Memorials may be sent to the family.
