BLACKWATER — The Rev. Carl Wilber Dickson, 85, died on May 5, 2011, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church in Casa Blanca. Another service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Kamiah, Idaho. The Rev. Lloyd Marihugh and the Rev. Hunter Keen will officiate. Burial will be in First Presbyterian Cemetery in Kamiah.
The Rev. Dickson was born on May 13, 1925, in Lewiston, Idaho, and was a son of James G. Dickson and Josephine Corbett. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a minister. He served for many years as a missionary on several Indian reservations, among the Pima, Seminole, Sioux, Ute and Shoshone tribes.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine R.; a daughter, Deborah Marihugh of Hickiwan; four sons, Carl Dickson of Kamiah, Caleb Dickson of Aztec, N.M., Timothy Dickson of Kamiah and Peter Dickson of Atlanta; a sister, Sarah Manzano of Seattle; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James Dickson Sr.; a daughter, Sandy Dickson; and two sisters, Lydia Allen and Grace Wilson.
