Carl Joe Opitz

Carl Joe Opitz, 65, of Casa Grande, AZ passed away August 27, 2017. The son of Carl and Mary Oppitz, he was born 1952 in Columbus, Ohio.
He graduated from Cochise College with an airframe mechanic degree in 1973. In 1986 he received a degree in electronics from Devry Institute of Technology. He worked in the semi-conductor industry as an Electronics Technician at Intel Corporation, Motorola Corporation, Microchip Corporation and Microsemi Corporation before he retired in 2010.
Joe, along with his wife Adena, enjoyed an adventurous life of rock climbing and back packing, downhill and cross country skiing. Later they moved into the equine world of owning horses, trail riding and camping and shared many beautiful trips with their horses in the states of Arizona, New Mexico and South Dakota. Joe's humor and words of love for his family and our great country will be missed.
Joe will be deeply missed by his wife, his loving family and his many lifelong friends. He is survived by his bride of 31 years, Adena Opitz; his parents; and his siblings: Christine Moritz, Steve, Rob,and John Opitz and 7 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Gardens Chapel on September 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Padre Dave Poedel presiding, A private reception will be held immediately following the service at Memory Gardens at J. Warren Funeral Home at 525 N. Peart Road.
