CASA GRANDE - Carl Omer Shelton, 81, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 3, 2017, at home.
Mr. Shelton was born on Feb. 13, 1935, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Hollis R. Shelton and Delaphene E. Shaw. He worked for Arizona Public Service Co. and retired as a load management specialist. He then volunteered for his church at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge for 25 years and was director of services.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra J. Thomson; two daughters, Carol S. (Shelton) Wilson of Phoenix and Dee Ann (Shelton) Kleinman of Mesa; two sons, Loren Carl Shelton of Casa Grande and Eric J. Shelton of Maricopa; three brothers, David Shelton of Florida, Robert Shelton of South Carolina and John Shelton of Tucson; a sister, Mary Fisher of California; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace M. Shelton.
Visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kortsen Building. Funeral following at 11. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
