Carlos "Charlie" Moreno

BLACKWATER - Carlos Jose "Charlie" Moreno, 81, of Blackwater died on Dec. 21, 2013, in Casa Grande.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 1 Multipurpose Building. The graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in North Blackwater Cemetery.

Mr. Moreno was born on April 1, 1932, in Tucson and was a son of Ignacio J. and Juana Moreno. He was a farmworker and enjoyed western and detective movies, wrestling and 1950s and ’60s shows. He also enjoyed listening to country and Mexican music, going to yard sales and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include six daughters, Charlene Molina, Sandra and Carmen Duran, Claudia Gonzales and Carolyn Castillo, all of Blackwater, and Mary Jane Moreno of Tucson; a son, Ignacio Moreno of Blackwater; a sister, Manuela Romero of Tucson; 38 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Imogene, in 2009; two daughters, Esther and Rita Moreno; and a sister, Ramona Kinch.
